The OIT3160B & OIT4160B MicroOITs can be configured as simple ASCII terminals for communicating with many ASCII compatible controllers. They support both RS-232 and RS-422/485 communications, and for applications that require multiple OITs they support multi-drop networks of up to 255 units. The 2-line by 20-character displays on these industrial ASCII terminals can be configured to display text messages from the controller or the 500 user-defined messages that are stored in the OIT. Each key on the OIT can be programmed to simulate momentary or on/off switches by sending ASCII character strings of up to 40-characters to the host controller. In addition, these ASCII character strings or alternate user-defined messages can be displayed on the OIT.

Key Type Operation
Momentary Function Sends one ASCII string of up to 40-characters when the key is pressed and a second ASCII string of up to 40-characters when the key is released. Use a Momentary Function key to simulate a momentary switch.
Push On/Off Function Sends one ASCII string of up to 40-characters when the key is pressed and a second ASCII string of up to 40-characters when the key is pressed again. Use a Push On/Off Function key to simulate a push on/off switch.

Rugged & Reliable

Tough enough to function almost anywhere, the OIT3160B & OIT4160B MicroOITs are sealed to NEMA 4/4X(indoor)/12 standards and meet CE specifications for electric noise immunity in industrial environments. In addition, these MicroOITs are listed by Underwriters Laboratories, Inc. for use in Class I, Division 2, Groups A, B, C, D or non-hazardous locations. Reliability is not sacrificed to keep these products affordable. We use the best components available to ensure that our products operate flawlessly.
