Microsoft® SCCM relies on systems’ SMBIOS UUID for identification over a network connection. In consumer grade desktop systems and servers, it is standard practice for every system to have a unique SMBIOS UUID assigned by the manufacturer. However, that is not the case for Industrial PCs.

The issue of identical SMBIOS UUIDs can be addressed by running a utility to assign a new (random) UUID to the system’s SMBIOS. The update utility is specific to the manufacturer of the system’s BIOS – for example, the utility for all Maple Systems OMI6000 and BPC Series Industrial PCs is specifically written for the American Megatrends system BIOS. In most cases your IT manager can resolve this issue.
