If the HMI fails to send an email, first press the "Test SMTP Settings" button in the EBPro System Parameters e-Mail tab to confirm that the SMTP settings are correct.
If it successfully sends an email from your PC, but not from the HMI, verify that the HMI is connected to a network that has access to the internet and that the Gateway IP address on the HMI is set correctly.
This should correspond to the IP address of the router that connects the local area network to the internet.
